The pilgrimage will visit four locations o n the circuit where Methodism took root in the years since. In 1799\, one of the earliest Methodist visitors to the town and area was Lorenzo Dow\, the crazy\, unwashed\, beloved American preacher\, whose missionary activi ty added many members.
